I've made this document to help people in podding manually. and is best viewed with word wrap on. click edit, then click word wrap(if you are viewing this in note pad)
this document was made assuming the reader knows how to unzip files.
make sure you read each step fully before attempting it.

advantages: up to 100 pods, more types of pods, ability to pod mtm 1 tracks

disadvantages: takes longer, not fool proof

okay here is how to do it,

- first you need to find and open a file called pod.ini, if you installed the game in the default folder, then you may be able to simply go to start\run\ and type in: (where X is the name of the drive it was installed in, usually C) "X:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Monster Truck Madness 2\pod.ini"
this is usually the folder its in however this may be different for different operating systems.
- after you open the file, 1 of 2 things will happen, 1 you will see a long list of words, these are other pods that are already installed
the other thing that may happen is you will get a window saying "open with" if this happens look for note pad and open it using that.
- now you see the list, there is 3 key things in this file. 1 the number at the top, this indecates how many pods are installed. 2 the list of pod names. 3 a small filled in black box,(this may not appear on certain systems)the box indecates the end(never delete it)
- okay first step is to add one to the top number, example, 19 changed to 20(because your about to add a pod file.
- next, place your curser at the end of one of the pod names example, baja.pod| <--- curser here
then press enter to add a line in the list, everything below your curser should have moved down.
- now type in the name of your pod file(make sure that the new track/truck pod file is in your mtm 2 folder.
- once you've typed the name in, click file\save, and close pod.ini file.
and your done, its best to check if you did this right by trying to play a 1 player game on the track/truck

troubleshooting:

THE TRACK(S) DONT APPEAR IN THE LIST: this may be because you forgot to add one to the top number, make sure that the number is equal to how many pods are listed

THE TRUCK(S) DONT APPEAR IN THE LIST: this may be the same as above

THE GAME CRASHES OR WONT START: this may be 1 of 2 or both problems, first, you might have counted wrong and made the top number in your pod.ini file to large. second is that you may have either forgot to or simply put the new pod file in the wrong spot, make sure its in the mtm 2 folder.

MY GAME STARTS BUT WHEN I CLICK GO, THE GAME CRASHES: this may be because you need the patch, or the pod file you have is damaged, and this cant be fixed.

AFTER I HIT GO, I GET MESSAGE NOT ENOUGH MEMORY: first make sure you got enough memory, about 64 mb of ram and 400mb of free space is the lowest you should go, if you have this or more, then make sure you got patch. and if you do, then cold boot your computer.(start\shutdown\okay) then turn power off, wait a bit then turn it back on. <---- this can fix many problems with the game

AFTER I HIT GO, I GET A MESSAGE THAT IVE GOT TO MANY PODS: first, make sure you got the patch, second, make sure you haven't gone over 100 pods

AFTER I HIT GO, I GET A MESSAGE NOT MENTIONED ABOVE: once again, make sure you got the patch, some times files may be damaged, make sure you got enough memory. and restart your computer

HOW DO I DECOMPRESS THE POD FILE(UNZIP): well im sorry but you will have to figure that out for yourself, or check around on the net for help with that.

if you have any other problems not mentioned here, you can try and find me on zone, or post your problem on the team TTR forum and ill see if i can help you
